New Beginnings is the first piece I have ever premiered. I am privileged to be commissioned by the Xi'an Conservatory of Music to write for this very unique experimental orchestra.

 

The Oriental Symphony Orchestra comprised of western woodwind and brass instruments but the string sections are made up of modified Chinse two-stringed fiddle. The Oriental Symphony Orchestra have now ceased to exist.

 

The perusal score featured is the 2009 re-orchestration for the Chinese Orchestra.
